You know since I was very young it's seemed to me that we've all been pretty annoyed about the way the shops treat Christmas.
It isn't even Haloween yet and the shops are beginning to fill with Christmas stock, it's hardly surprising that we're fed up already come December of the "Cheer" that's been rammed down our throats for almost four months.
My question is why do we put up with it. We all pretty much dislike the way the large corporations do this and yet it carries on.

Please can we move Christmas to a warmer time of the year, say 25th June, so the BBQ's can be used for Christmas dinner. "I have a cunning plan", we don't tell all the stores, that Christmas was moved, then the prices stay more 'normal'. We certainley don't tell any media, so we dont have to sit through 'Great Escape', 'Sound of Music' and all the other Christmas stand by entertainment! Most certainly we don't tell the Children. My three (16,13,10) all still believe in Santa Klaus (not) had the Argos catalogue out half way through the summer holidays, it's just toooooooooo much (how do you spell the sound of grey hair been pulled out)

in my local supermarket it's still halloween (that's the american spelling), however my mum works for a large chemist and its xmas in their store, already.
apathy is what does it, sheer apathy and the willingness to accept the "norm".... that and marketing/advertisers...
eg coca cola santa..al la 1950's.
I think, but I have been known to be wrong.
